Zigbee is a low power, meshing wireless transmission system. It is commonly used in metering systems, building automation systems and in the Fusion Sport Smartspeed system [www.fusionsport.com]. Fusion Sport is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grabba and Grabba Zigbee attachments are used in the SmartSpeed system.

You can now offer your customers the benefits of using consumer off the shelf (COTS) devices to control, monitor and view elements of your Zigbee enabled system components. Using a COTS PDA (or Smartphone) allows you to cost effectively develop stunning applications to enhance your system offering. Service personnel can also take advantage of the additional features available on the COTS PDA/Smartphones such as phone and internet capability.

You do not need Zigbee hardware specialists to program your applications. Most of the application can be written/altered by mobile application developers once your Zigbee communication structure is set.

The Grabba attachment allows system developers to communicate with their Zigbee enabled devices such as sensors, thermostats, meters, health equipment etc. The Grabba SDK opens a communications session allowing PDA applications access to Zigbee enabled devices. In some models you can also download your own custom firmware to the Zigbee module.
