Specifically-customised solutions for enterprises are on the increase at Grabba.
CEO Frank Downes says that increasingly, businesses are not willing to accept, or able to locate suitable off-the-shelf solutions for business needs. “Every month, we are receiving calls either directly from business or from software developers,” he says. “Enterprise is not willing to spend large sums on solutions that may not be exactly tailored to its needs, and do not hesitate in seeking exact need-matched products. “Our engineering team is working in a range of industries, such as retail, transport, travel, automotive and hospitality to come up with solutions that meet the current needs of a business, but also that can be upgraded or adapted for the future.” One such example is Database Consultants Australia (DCA) that is currently using a Grabba-customised solution as part of a yet-to-be announced transport project. Paul Carboon from DCA says that the company found it hard when it initially went searching for a device that interfaced to a handheld PDA with a USB port. “When we identified our need, we went looking, and it seemed a daunting task. We initially could not find a manufacturer to supply what we needed off-the-shelf,” he says. “After some research, we identified Grabba as being a company that would be able to provide DCA with what it needed. “We are more than happy with the result; the team was flexible, they really listened to what we wanted and understood our needs immediately. The pricing was excellent and the team is clearly a bunch of very intelligent people.” DCA is using the Symbol MC35 with a specifically-designed scanning attachment to assist with car parking monitoring project. “Providing custom-solutions in the IT industry is difficult, and not all companies provide this service. DCA has found the business model of Grabba to be exceptional, and we are more than happy with the technology and service that has been provided. ”We are very impressed with Grabba business model. It has allowed us to use Grabba resources in the development phase of the project. Grabba is incorporating DCA Intellectual Property inside the Grabba customised product. As a part of the agreement, Grabba is managing product manufacture, ordering, shipping, and remedying any product bugs.
